Transport Services for Voluntary Groups

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) and Glasgow City Council have joined forces to find cheaper ways of providing transport services for voluntary run social groups in the city.

Transport services for voluntary run social groups in the city were facing an uncertain future as Glasgow City Council worked to balance competing budgetary pressures.

Community Transport Glasgow are working in Partnership wit SPT to deliver the transport runs. Minibuses from CT-G and the Social Work Department are now used continue the transport service for the groups.

On Monday 9th August 2010, the transport service was launched at the People's Palace, Glasgow, CT-G was joined by members of the GESH and Friends of the Disabled Group, SPT, Councillor Findley, SPT Chairman and Councillor Kerr, Convenor of SW, Glasgow City Council.
